A guest retreat which celebrates a writer’s love for art, books and travel. A multicultural approach guides the selection of furniture and objets d’art including, mid-century, contemporary, Orientalist, classical and natural items; classical meets modern with a global twist. The space was new and austere. The challenge was to create architectural interest and bring softness, patina and age to a new room. Art, books and natural objects ground the room in history, culture and earthly treasures.
