Georgian Mansion Fireplace Wall
The Challenge: Create interest on a wall where koa wood paneling and a built in cabinet was removed.
The odd height and darkness of 1914 koa wood paneling made the room appear oppressive. An antique French limestone fireplace replaces the built-in bar.  A mid-century painting creates a sense of height and symmetry. The very small closet is transformed into a bookcase which serves the adjacent antique French bureau plat.
